MP2 Energy announced new emergency demand response solutions today, for service in Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) commercial markets. In partnership with Vedero Software, a leading provider for demand response automation technologies, MP2 has developed integrated tools for use in the Emergency Interruptible Load Service (EILS) ERCOT program.

ERCOT offers commercial customers substantial compensation in exchange for their participation in emergency demand response programs. Participants in the programs agree to curtail their electric load in the event of emergencies or as a stopgap in spiking demand that might otherwise result in rolling blackouts. More than 40% of the electricity consumed in North America surges through Hospitals, Office Buildings, Universities and Schools. The operators of these facilities are earnestly interested in participating in demand response programs such as EILS. However, curtailing electricity requires a sound and stable balance in order to appropriately serve the needs of the building occupants.

Vedero Software’s platform offers a strong, smart and secure resource to manage the delicate balance required to optimize the effectiveness of Demand Response events while maintaining appropriate utility and comfort levels for facility occupants. Vedero Software and MP2 study customer load as well as any onsite or backup generation at the customers? facilities to integrate and bid eligible locations into the EILS program. Should a test or actual EILS event be necessary, Vedero Software receives a signal from MP2 to curtail electricity, and the Vedero platform temporarily overrides existing BAS systems to curtail load based on pre-programmed and customer approved scenarios.

Once the test or EILS event is over, Vedero signals the customer BAS to resume normal operations. During the entire process, the customer is in complete control of complying with the EILS event by accessing Vedero?s real-time web-based system that provides alerts and reports on the status of operations.

?We are impressed with Vedero Software and feel that together we can offer a unique solution to commercial building operators here in Texas to allow them to participate in EILS by automatically and intelligently shedding available energy load through Vedero?s software? said Matthew Adams, President Retail Sales, MP2 Energy.

?We evaluated many potential partners in Texas with level IV QSE credentials and chose MP2 since we found them to be innovative, responsive, and progressive? said Joe Pollard, CEO, Vedero Software. ?We are excited to be partnering with MP2 given their proven track record of success here in Texas with the EILS program?.
