Electricity Rates Calculator

How much can you save with a new electricity rate?

It can be time consuming to calculate potential savings by hand when you’re shopping around for electricity and comparing multiple offers — ElectricChoice.com features hundreds of offers in states like Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania alone!

That’s why we’re proud to introduce our savings calculator.

Our calculator is easy — put in your current electric rate, new electric rate, and the amount of electricity you use every month — you’ll then be showed how much your new electricity rate will save you on a monthly, 6-month, 12-month, 24-month, and 36-month basis.

Example 1 (Residential):

Let’s say you’re a resident of Texas currently using 1,300 kWh a month in electricity.  You’re currently paying 9.8 cents per kWh with your current provider and you’ve got your eyes on a new electric rate at 8.6 cents per kWh.  Great!  So how much will you save if you switch?

Find out in seconds with our calculator:

Example 2 (Commercial):

Our second example will relate to those who own or manage a small business.  Let’s say you run an auto repair shop in Pennsylvania and you’re using 11,000 kWh a month.  You’re currently paying a rate of 7.4 cents per kWh and you found a new plan offering 5.9 cents per kWh.  What will your savings look like?

Commercial Rate Savings

Again, our calculator will tell you in seconds.

While there are more elements (fees/charges on your new monthly bill) that might affect your actual savings, our savings calculator is a great tool to have alongside you as you search for a new electricity rate.
