The ElectricChoice Energy Team
Who writes and reviews our content
Eisenbach Consulting, LLC — Tyler, Texas · Est. 2002
Every rate table, plan comparison, and educational article on ElectricChoice.com is produced and reviewed by our in-house team of senior energy consultants — the same professionals who manage commercial and industrial energy procurement nationwide. When you see “our Energy Team” on a page, this is who we mean.
Co-founder of TEPA (Texas Energy Professionals Association). Participated in the initial phases of Texas energy deregulation in 2002 as one of the earliest licensed aggregators in the state.
State Licensing & Registration
Eisenbach Consulting, LLC holds active registrations in every U.S. state open to energy competition. Each license can be independently verified through the linked state docketing system.
States where licensing is not required
The following states do not require a license for the services we provide, but we maintain active operations in these markets.
Where our data comes from
Every rate, plan detail, and market statistic on ElectricChoice.com is sourced from authoritative, verifiable origins. We do not fabricate or estimate rates.
-
Live ERCOT-market feeds — Texas residential and commercial electricity rates are pulled from real-time market sources tied to the ERCOT grid.
-
Electricity Facts Labels (EFLs) — Plan details, pricing tiers, and fee structures are verified against provider-published EFLs filed with the PUCT.
-
State regulatory filings — Rate data for non-Texas markets is aggregated from public utility commission filings and tariff schedules published by state regulators.
-
U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) — National and state-level average rates, consumption data, and market statistics are sourced from EIA's publicly available datasets.
-
Retail electric provider APIs — Where available, we connect directly to provider data feeds for the most current plan offerings and availability by service area.
How we verify rate data
Rate data passes through multiple checkpoints before it appears on ElectricChoice.com. Our verification process is designed to catch errors before consumers see them.
Automated ingestion
Rate data is pulled from source feeds and APIs on a scheduled basis. Automated checks flag anomalies — sudden price swings, missing fields, or formatting inconsistencies.
Cross-reference check
Ingested rates are compared against provider-published EFLs, tariff schedules, and regulatory filings to confirm accuracy before publication.
Consultant review
Our team of energy consultants — the same professionals who handle commercial energy procurement at Eisenbach Consulting — reviews flagged data and spot-checks published rates.
Ongoing monitoring
Published rates are continuously monitored for provider-side changes. When a provider updates their plans or pricing, our data reflects the change within one business day.
How we stay independent
ElectricChoice.com is not a retail electricity provider. We don't sell electricity plans. Our rate tables reflect actual market data — not advertising spend.
-
No pay-for-placement — Providers cannot pay for higher rankings or featured positioning in our rate comparisons.
-
Editorial independence — Provider reviews, educational articles, and blog content are written and published without provider approval or editorial input from advertisers.
Regulatory compliance
ElectricChoice.com operates in accordance with state-level regulations governing electricity aggregation, brokerage, and consumer education. We adhere to all applicable consumer protection rules, marketing standards, and disclosure requirements established by state utility commissions.
