Founded in 2003 by the Vega family in Houston, Amigo Energy is a bilingual retail electricity provider serving the Texas market with Spanish-language customer support. The company was acquired by Fulcrum Power Services in 2007, then by Canadian-based Just Energy Group in August 2011 as part of the ~$79 million Fulcrum Retail Holdings deal. IGS Energy acquired Just Energy in July 2025, making Amigo part of one of North America's largest energy retailers serving approximately 7.5 million customers.

What causes price differences across Amigo Energy service areas?
The price differences come from TDU delivery charges, which are set by your local utility — not by Amigo Energy. Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas, and other TDUs each have different per-kWh delivery rates and fixed monthly fees, so the same plan will have a different all-in price depending on your territory.
What contract lengths does Amigo Energy offer?
