Rhythm FAQ

Common questions about Rhythm electricity plans, rates, and service areas.

What areas does Rhythm serve?

Rhythm offers plans in six Texas deregulated TDU territories: Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas Central, AEP Texas North, TNMP, and Sharyland. Enter your ZIP code to confirm availability and see rates for your territory.

How much does Rhythm electricity cost per kWh?

At 1,000 kWh monthly usage, Rhythm plans currently price between 6.6¢ and 13.9¢ per kWh. The average across all plans and territories is 10.9¢/kWh, with the best rate found in the CenterPoint territory. These rates include TDU delivery charges and refresh several times per day.

Why does the same Rhythm plan have different prices in different areas?

Texas electricity rates include two components: the provider's energy charge and the TDU's delivery charge. Since each utility territory (Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas, etc.) sets its own delivery rates, the total cost of a Rhythm plan varies depending on where you live — even though the energy portion stays the same.

How long are Rhythm electricity contracts?

Plan terms range from 5 to 36 months. Fixed-rate contracts lock in your energy rate for the full term. If you need to cancel early, expect an early termination fee — current ETFs: 24-month plan: $20; 5-month plan: $20; 12-month plan: $20; 36-month plan: $20.

How do I sign up for Rhythm electricity?

Pick a plan from the table above, then enroll through the provider's website or by phone. Rhythm handles the switch with your local utility automatically. There's no interruption to your power — the transition usually takes 1-3 business days.
