About Tara Energy

Tara Energy launched in 2002 in Houston as a retail electricity provider serving residential and commercial customers across deregulated Texas markets. The company was originally a subsidiary of Fulcrum Power Services before being acquired along with sister brand Amigo Energy by Just Energy Group in August 2011 as part of the approximately $79 million Fulcrum Retail Holdings deal. Tara Energy became part of the IGS Energy family when IGS acquired Just Energy in July 2025. The company has served hundreds of thousands of customers and offers same-day connections and Saturday start dates.
