Ranchero Power launched as a retail electricity brand in Texas in 2021 as a trade name of Southern Federal Power, LLC, which entered the Texas market in July 2019. Southern Federal Power is a subsidiary of Genie Retail Energy, owned by publicly traded Genie Energy Ltd (NYSE: GNE) based in Newark, New Jersey.
