About BKV Energy

BKV Energy is the retail electricity arm of BKV Corporation, a vertically integrated energy company founded in 2015 by Chris Kalnin. BKV Corporation became the largest natural gas producer in the Barnett Shale by 2019 and expanded its portfolio with assets from ExxonMobil subsidiaries in 2022. BKV launched its retail electricity brand in February 2023 under the legal entity BKV-BPP Retail LLC, holding PUCT certificate #10323. The company's flagship Bluebonnet plan includes loyalty payouts, a price drop program, monthly reward points, and no base charges. BKV was voted the #1 electricity provider in Houston and Lubbock.
