Heritage Power FAQ
Common questions about Heritage Power electricity plans, rates, and service areas.
Is Heritage Power available in my area?
Heritage Power currently serves six Texas utility territories: Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas Central, AEP Texas North, TNMP, and Sharyland. Not all plans may be available in every territory. Enter your ZIP code above to see what's offered at your address.
How much does Heritage Power electricity cost per kWh?
At 1,000 kWh monthly usage, Heritage Power plans currently price between 10.4¢ and 13.3¢ per kWh. The average across all plans and territories is 11.9¢/kWh, with the best rate found in the CenterPoint territory. These rates include TDU delivery charges and refresh several times per day.
What causes price differences across Heritage Power service areas?
The price differences come from TDU delivery charges, which are set by your local utility — not by Heritage Power. Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas, and other TDUs each have different per-kWh delivery rates and fixed monthly fees, so the same plan will have a different all-in price depending on your territory.
How long are Heritage Power electricity contracts?
Plan terms range from 3 to 12 months. Fixed-rate contracts lock in your energy rate for the full term. If you need to cancel early, expect an early termination fee — current ETFs: 5-month plan: $75; 12-month plan: $75.
What do I need to enroll with Heritage Power?
You'll need your service address (or ZIP code), a valid ID, and your Social Security number for a credit check. Some plans may not require a credit check or deposit. Select a plan above to start enrollment. The switch typically completes in 1-3 business days with no service interruption.
